Announcement

We have some exciting news to share. ShipLab is partnering with Robust.AI, a leader in AI-driven warehouse automation, to deploy Carter collaborative mobile robots at our Vista, CA facility. The first phase goes live this July.

Why We’re Investing in Warehouse Automation

Ecommerce fulfillment keeps getting faster, and our clients expect us to keep up. Adding Carter robots to our operation means quicker tote movement between fulfillment and packing stations, more capacity as we grow, and more time for our team to focus on the work that requires a human touch.

What it doesn’t mean is any change to the accuracy and speed our clients count on. Our 99.9% accuracy standard and same-day shipping commitments stay exactly where they are. Automation is here to support that standard, not replace the people behind it. Carter is designed to work alongside our warehouse team, with no changes to our existing facility required.

A Crawl, Walk, Run Approach

We didn’t want to flip a switch and hope for the best. Robust.AI structured this deployment as a phased “Crawl, Walk, Run” model, which was a big part of why this partnership made sense for us.

Here’s how it works. We start with a pilot where Carter automates tote transport between our fulfillment and packing stations. Once performance is validated, we expand to a full fleet of Carter robots working across our picking operation. At each phase, we confirm the system is hitting its targets before we scale, and payments are deferred until it does.

As our CEO Jake Brenner put it, every technology investment has to earn its place. This model lets us prove the system works in our environment, at our pace, without disrupting the operation our clients rely on every day.

What This Means for Your Brand

If you’re a ShipLab client, or thinking about becoming one, this partnership is about one thing: building a fulfillment operation that scales with you. Faster internal workflows mean orders move through our facility quicker. More capacity means we can support your growth without compromising on accuracy or speed.

We’ll share updates as the deployment expands. In the meantime, you can read the full announcement on GlobeNewswire or learn more about Carter at robust.ai.
